At Parliament St there will be…

  • A stage bringing live music and performance throughout the day
  • Dance demos and performance from cheerleaders and break dancers
  • Contemporary performance art from OUI Performance, an independent York based organisation
  • Salsa band Bourbon y Tequila

Art and Creativity:

  • The Fiesta Doodle where Doodle Manifesto invites everyone to take part and see what doodles they can create

Food:

  • Marvellous Tea Company selling tea and cakes
  • Street party style food stalls

Evening salsa:

From 6.30 to 8.30pm York residents and visitors are invited to take to the street and dance some salsa. Whether you’ve tried it before or need to be taught the steps, dancing to the live band in the very centre of York is sure to be an experience worth remembering!

At St Samson’s Square there will be:

The fantabulous and fantastic Wonderland marquee!

York Fiesta’s indoor garden is surely set to take your breath away, making you wonder just which picture book or fairytale you’ve strolled into!

Celebrating creativity and imagination this secret garden will be decorated with flowers, insects and bunting made by York’s community groups, individual residents and children’s groups.

With live music and performances from local school groups, this enchanted garden provides a place to relax and enjoy the afternoon with friends and family.

Don’t forget to follow our blog and Twitter, and join the facebook group, where you will be able to find out more about each event and act, how to get involved and see how the Fiesta progresses and takes shape!
